Actions for Week of March 1

Won’t you turn these red seats blue?

Support progressive candidates in NY, PA, and KY, push for election security, and demand a Green New Deal.

Any time

SUPPORT ELECTION SECURITY LEGISLATION

The House passed a major election integrity, access, and security bill. The Senate is ignoring it. Time to put some pressure on them.  Use the tool at the link to write letters to the editor in support of this important legislation. And, send the link to your friends in other states.

INSIST ON A GREEN NEW DEAL

NY has an ambitious plan to transition to a greener grid. But little has been done to actually implement any of it.  And now Trump won't even let us study how to prevent flooding.  It's unacceptable.

Use this script to call Cuomo and your state reps. Tell them we want action. Their numbers are below:

▶︎SCRIPT: My name is… and I’m a constituent from…. I’m calling because I’m extremely concerned about the effects of climate change and think we need bold action to protect people and the only planet we have. I want the (governor/state senator/assembly member) to support a pied-a-terre tax and a millionaires’ and stock transfer tax to fund climate protection actions and green power.  I also want {he/she) to support Assembly Member Bobby Carroll’s legislation to enact public power in NYS and a stop to all new fossil fuel infrastructure development.  ◀︎

And, while you're talking to the governor, also insist that he stop the WIliams Pipeline and North Brooklyn Pipeline.  Fracking is the last thing we need.

Governor Cuomo: 518-474-8390 (Choose option 1 to leave a message)
State Senator Liz Krueger: 518-455-2297
Assembly member Dan Quart: 518-455-4794
Assembly member Rebecca Seawright: 518-455-5676
