MONTHLY MEETING RECAP
Sarah gave us a broad election (and post-election) overview. We need to focus all the way up and down the ballot. Local races, including in NY, are important too. We need to keep and expand that legislative majority. And we need to prepare ourselves post-election if the results are delayed, or if Trump refuses to go quietly. Indivisible is working on resources for that.
Also, Kim Moscaritolo had some election updates. First, if you vote on the Working Families Party line it helps keep them on the ballot (and advance budget justice, the green new deal, and fairness for ordinary New Yorkers). Since we have fusion voting, your vote will still count for candidates on the Democratic party line.
Secondly, Patrick Bobilin has been disqualified from running against Rebecca Seawright. He did not meet the residency requirements for statewide office. She still has a Republican opponent.
There were no texts available, so we wrote more letters. By the way, we're up to 5,555 contacts with voters so far! Let's keep it up!

CALL VOTERS OF COLOR IN NORTH CAROLINA
4:30 PM - 6 PM
Indivisible Westchester is reaching out to voters in North Carolina to help them vote.* Once you know what to do, you can call whenever you like (9 AM-9 PM daily except Sunday starting at noon), or as part of a session.
*The Senate race here is between Cal Cunningham and Thom Tillis, not Lindsay Graham and Jaime Harrison. That race is in South Carolina, despite what I said last week. Thanks to Lisa for pointing out the error. I clearly need more coffee!
STATE RACES MATTER TOO!
JEN METZGER
Jen Metzger is running against a Trump-loving opponent named Michael Robert Martucci in Ulster County. She’s a progressive in a tough race. Help make some phone calls to keep her in the State Senate. Choose the training time that works for you at the link and make calls through election day.
DITCH ELISE STEFANIK, ELECT TEDRA INSTEAD
Sign up to make calls through election day. First a dry run, then full speed ahead once early voting starts October 24.
Tuesday, October 13
FLIP THE GEORGIA HOUSE

Wednesday, October 14

Join us, along with Empire State Indivisible and other NY groups to phone bank on behalf of Sara Gideon.

A short bio of the first woman to become an engineer in the US. In this context, a “computer” is a person doing complex mathematical calculations, not a machine.
Build a boat
Test your own engineering skills and see if you can build a boat out of ordinary household materials. Then fill a tub or bucket with water and test sail your creation to see if it floats.
